Originating as a request for a candle scribe these quickly morphed into an art all their own. These gemstone scribes are hand forged, twisted, and set with a lot of sweat and grime to produce something I can say I'm truly proud of. I have listed some of the common gemstones folks ask me for but please shoot me a note if a particular stone is on your mind and we can work to make it happen! If you're feeling chaotic, you can "Let Fate Decide" and receive a random gemstone that may or may not be on the list.
Production Process:
There's a lot that goes into these but they start life as a 1/4" square bar of 1080 cold-rolled steel. A bandsaw, belt sander, cut off wheel, and good ole' fashion hammer and anvil get them into shape before they are wire brushed and coated in beeswax to protect from rust. Lastly a gemstone is fitting and the tines are cold forming around the gem for a good fit.
The stand that comes with is almost as much work as the scribes! It's made of 1/8" thick steel plate and 16 guage wire. The piece is welded, wired brushed, and coated to give it a look that vibes well with each scribe.
